“Grand Rapids Public Schools broke ground Wednesday afternoon on a new school behind Aberdeen Academy, marking the first new school built on the city’s northeast side in six decades.
The ceremony included Mayor David LaGrand, state Rep. Stephen Wooden, D-Grand Rapids, and district leaders. The groundbreaking is part of the district’s Reimagine plan.
‘It’s a testament to our school community our taxpayers who say yes we believe in GRPS,’ Superintendent Leadriane Roby said.”
